Chocolate. Who does not love it?! Chocolate can always make me happy!
We all know this isn't only because of its delicious taste.
Chocolate affects your brain, so it can have emotional and physical benefits!
Chocolate contains a variety of chemicals some of which make us feel good. Actually it contains an amino acid from which dopamine is derived. Dopamine makes us feel happy and content, theobromine which give a boost of energie along with calming effect, and caffeine which stimulates allertness. Chocolate may also boost serotonin levels that help us to feel relaxed.
Let’s face it, it also tastes really good and that alone can make us feel good at least temporarily.
For my first vegan birthday I made these brownies from Vegetus, a Dutch vegan food blogger, and you can consider this a review.
I will admit I did not mind tasting this recipe 'for the good cause'.
